Academic Advising
Eastern Wyoming College provides academic advising for all our students in our service area and distance education students. Our advisors are available to assist in academic information during the registration process each semester and help guide you with the courses you need to graduate from EWC. The responsibility for your educational goals and course selection is yours as a student.
Important information you, the student, need to know or bring for your advising meeting:
- High school and/or college transcripts
- ACT test scores or Compass placement test scores
- Educational goals: one year certificate, two year degree or transfer to a four year college.
- Career goals: work after the one year certificate or two year degree or transfer to a four year college.
Our advisors help students with:
- Program Choices: What majors are available, what special requirements for each major and what fees or skills are needed.
- Course Choices: Which courses are available, what prerequisites are needed in each course (test scores needed).
- Class scheduling: Consider your work schedule, family commitments, and course load.
- Evaluate your progress toward your educational goal.
- Direct you to the appropriate office for campus resources you might need.
